February is American Heart Month, and Dr. Derrick Gervin, with CDC's Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention, discusses some of the factors contributing to health disparities and ways everyone can live heart healthy.

The term "heart disease" refers to several types of heart conditions. The most common type in the United States is coronary artery disease, which can cause heart attack, angina, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
