Charles John Huffam Dickens
The Victorian era of British history was the period of Queen Victoria's reign from 20 June 1837 until her death, on 22 January 1901.
Culturally there was a transition away from the rationalism of the Georgian period and toward romanticism and mysticism with regard to religion, social values, and arts.
The Victorian era was a time of unprecedented demographic increase in Britain.
Popular forms of entertainment varied by social class
Charles John Huffam Dickens, born on 7 February 1812 and died on 9 June 1870, was an English writer and social critic.
He created some of the world's most well-known fictional characters and is generally regarded as the greatest novelist of the Victorian period.
Dickens sprang to fame with the 1836 serial publication of The Pickwick Papers.
On 8 June 1870, Dickens suffered a stroke at his home after a full day's work on Edwin Drood and he died the next day.

Oliver Twist was born in 1830 in England by unknown mother. He lives in an orphanage and later in a workhouse until he decides to run away. Welcomed by a band of thieves is forced to work as a criminal. After a theft and after being accused is greeted by Mr. Brownlow. One day when the child was going to the city is again kidnapped by Fagin’s gang and he was given a new mission in which he was wounded. The child is welcomed by the Maylies and lives in their home during the summer. One day the grandson of Mrs. Maylie is made aware of the plan that Fagin (with another boy) wanted to do to recover the child. Finally the Maylies and the Brownlows meet and finally emerge all the truths and the mysteries of Oliver’s life.
