Four Major New Testament passages dealing with churchDiscipline –2 Thess. 3: 6; Romans 16: 17; 1 Cor. 5: 9-13; 2 Thess. 3:14.

Value of God’s Word
But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or anextortioner, not even to eat with such a person. For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who outside God Judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”2 Thessalonians 3: 14– “And if anyone does not obey our word in this epistle, note that personand do not keep companywith him, that he may be ashamed.
Discipline is a word which is out of step withour time.

Elders play a vital role in the instructive(preventive) part of the church discipline.
1. Elders are to feed the flock of God.Acts 20:28– “Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which he purchased with His own blood.”They mustguardthe flock from false teaches within.Acts 20: 30– “Also from among yourselves men rise up, speaking perverse things to draw away the disciples after themselves. They must be mindful of the flock day and night.Acts 20:31– Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears”.

What is Corrective Discipline?
Corrective Discipline, or Withdrawal is not aChoice but a Command.2 Thessalonians 3: 6– “But we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw from every brother who walks disorderlyand not according to the tradition which he received from us.Corrective discipline does not mean vengeance toward the offender.Romans 12:19– “Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”The Bible is clear about where vengeance belongs…..It belongs to God.Corrective discipline does not mean pronouncing or condemning a person to hell because he can repent (1 John 1: 9)Corrective discipline does not mean that the one withdrawn from become an enemy.2 Thess. 3: 15– “Yet do not count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
What Does Corrective Discipline Mean or Include?
It means to avoid or turn away from.Romans 16: 17– “Now I urge you brethren, note (mark, KJV) those who cause division and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, andavoid them.”It means to refuse association or company.1 Corinthians 5: 9-11– “I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. It means one does not give encouragement in any way to what the evil one is doing. One must separate from, to retire from personally and private (after the church has withdrawn, and to turn away from.
What Are The Purpose of Corrective Discipline
To Save The Souls of theSAVEDmembers of the church. It is only as one sees the true nature of sin that one will shun the appearance of evil.Failure to purge out sin leads to toleration of sin and blinds one to its true nature.(Death) James 1:15; Romans 3: 23).1 Corinthians 5: 1-2,the Corinthians were“puffed up”.A little leaven leaves the whole lump, -1 Corinthians 5:6,it is only by purging out the leaven that the rest of the lump is kept free from contamination (sin). It is only as the church does whatGod commandsin these instances (sin) that she (the church) can escape the condemnation that is sure to come for a refusal to do so.2 Thess. 3:6; Romans 16: 17; 1 Cor. 5: 9-13; 2 Thess. 3:14.
What is the Scriptural Procedure in Corrective Discipline?
